Registration information for STAR 2012 – Avon, CO
By the time you read this, on line registration for STAR 12 should be available. There are a few items you should be aware of for this year’s STAR registration.
When you register, you will be given a link to the hotel registration site which you can use to register at the Christie Lodge. This confirmation will be copied to the Christie Lodge so they can verify your registration. There is no restriction when you book on line – as soon as you have the link on your confirmation, you can register. This link is dedicated to the MSTA and is not available until your register for STAR. If you cancel, you MUST cancel your hotel reservation on your own, directly with the hotel.
We will be checking the final rooming list against registered members. Anyone who has made a hotel booking but has not registered for STAR will be cancelled by the hotel.
We have rooms blocked from Thursday the 21st, through Friday the 29th. Normally you want to check in on Sunday, the 24th and out on Thursday the 28th. If your dates are different than that (about half of you check in on Saturday, half on Sunday), please be sure to enter the correct dates. If you have special needs, you will have to call the hotel direct – the number is on your confirmation.
There are plenty of rooms this year, so you should not have a problem registering at the event hotel. The prices are 76.00 per night for a single condo room and 177.00 per night for a three bedroom, three bath condo. All rates are displayed without the lodging tax, which is currently 12%.
There are four choices for your luncheon sandwich on the lunch ride on Tuesday. Please indicate your choice if you will be doing the lunch ride. The lunch will be in Cedaredge Colorado, about 170 miles via Interstate 70 or 150 miles via CO 133 – about a 3 hour ride. Cedaredge is on the southern slope of Grand Mesa, east of Grand Junction.
If you will be bringing children (ages 11 and under) and wish to buy a banquet ticket for them, there is a reduced charge (15.00 vs 30.00).
Non-members who register for STAR and supply the membership application will receive a complimentary one year basic membership in lieu of an event voucher, with paid event registration fees. Any member who currently holds an event voucher may apply a $35 discount towards the event registration fee by completing the registration process detailed below. To be considered a non-member you must not have been a MSTA member within the last 5 years. If any questions on any of this, use the email address below.
